Technical Stilo abarth 04 , Please help, cant unlock my doors

Hi i have an 04 plate fiat stilo abarth. I have not owned it long but it has been fine. When i bought it i only got the flip type key, no fob. Today i went out and locked my doors with the key, on coming back to the car my doors wont unlock and the central locking wont release. The key turns but nothing happens. I had a friend break in through the boot and it will drive but even from the inside i cant unlock any doors . Can any one help as im a lady driver and dont know where to start . Thanks

Hi sorry for sounding completely daft but what is deadlocked. I locked it with the key ? now it wont unlock Thanks for any help, Theresa

its a double locking system, i don't use it on mine,

press the unlocking knob twice rapidly or turn the key twice, that will deactivate your deadlock lock mechanism.
