Totally Different to damper springs fitted in the clutch plate. Hopefully someone else will post if ever seen on petrol before. On the diesels Prior to the part you have posted pic of the pipe was coiled a few times in approx ౩ inch diameter to attempt achieve same effects.

I'd be looking again to see if has come unclipped from something higher up.
