Technical Stiff Gear Selection

Hi,

I need a little help with a problem on my 1.6SX. Recently, it has become difficult to engage and disengage fourth gear. Clutch is fairly fresh and gearbox was replaced last year (it was a secondhand box so could be a problem, but at least I know the oil is fresh and the seals are new). I have a spare slave cylinder from the old box, but before I try that, I'd like to check the linkages over in case it's just a lubrication issue with them.

Can anyone post or send me a schematic of the linkage runs?

Thanks Peat,

I was able to trace the cables back and, sure enough, one of the boots (which look suspiciously similar to the infamous handbrake lever boots) had split. A very healthy squirt of 3-in-1 oil into the boot has loosened the change right up. I'll try to smear some vaseline into the split tomorrow and hopefully will get away without having to get in there and replace the boot any time soon.
