The Cruise Control lever has become sticky on my 13 plate Rollerteam Motorhome. With only 3700 miles on the clock, it's hardly high mileage but I'm a bit surprised by this problem so early in it's life.
In order to keep things ticking over during the winter months I take it for a run, 20 miles or so about once a month. But during these runs I haven't used the Cruise Control. Last Saturday though I tried the cruise control and found it a little stiff, it worked but when I pushed the lever up it stayed up and I carried on accelerating even though I had let go of the lever. I had to push it down to get it to stop it was similarly stiff if pushed down and the response to the end button was sluggish.
My initial thought is to spray some wd40 in and around but before I do so I thought I'd check here to see if this will a) cure the problem b) will it cause other problems or c) is there a better solution.
I'm a 3 hour ferry and a 2 hour drive from my nearest Fiat Dealer in Inverness so naturally I don't want to take it in on warranty unless I have to.
Any suggestions or advice will be most welcome.
