it does not turn off with the ignition, tried switching the red and yellow wires over as some of you said and nothing it just forgot the radio stations ? ?
any way to turn the stereo off with the ignition ? ? ?
 
The yellow wire sounds like the constant voltage, which holds the memory, the main live wire should be connected to the starter motor wire if you want it to come on with the ignition.

...but don't connect it to the starter motor directly, sounds a recipe for disaster... You could find a wire behind the ignition switch that's live when the key is on. Or, I usually take out the heater fan switch and hook the red wire into the blue supply wire to the heater fan, as that becomes live only when the ignition is on and is also a fused supply.
