Punto (Mk2/2b) Stereo/power steering fault

Whenever I plug in my stereo, my power steering fails and makes the steering extremely stiff! The fuel pump also stops working and the engine starts 2nd time, every time. But once I unplug stereo, it's all back to normal. Stereo was tested and is fine, any suggestions?

Anyone else ever had this as well?!

What do you mean big headlight? It's just an mk2 51 plate punto.

ive had this on later model due to radio giving back voltage through the canbus causing the vss to get confused and turn steering off and also cause immobilisor to come on
it always shows fault code for vss that needs clearing with code reader though

maybe you need someone to check stereo wiring for you

dont go fiat
they charge high labour rates and are probably useless on something like this
get someone to disconnect your plugs from your radio for you
if this solves your problem then go to a professional radio fitter to fit your stereo properly

I second that with Fiat they'll skin you dry if they get the chance to, so don't give them that chance! Do what S and B said, if unplugging the the stereo solves it then go to an auto electrician garage or independent auto electrician

Hope you get it sorted, bet it's some so simple!
