This is like the iso adapter you need http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=260491230807&alt=web

Just double check first though. Then just rewire as i said above and it should be working fine and safely

I think that's the right one. I found one exactly like it on ebay uk and it does list my model of stereo (JVC KD-R331).

Unfortunately, like the cable I need to properly diagnose a speed sensor failure, this will have to wait until payday... EDIT nope, freed up some money. Ordering now! :D

Holey ****e....

A Scotch lock and bare wires.... ffs :bang::bang:

That scotch lock is bridging he red and yellow wires together
this is causing the stereo to stay on - ALL THE TIME, as its been given power and the 12v awake signal (thats normally comes from an ignition switched feed)

Hence the parasitic drain - its the stereo, it common people bodging stereo's in

Since you can get the stereo out - you already 25% there

This is my forum guide

Hi what cable is it you need i may have one that i will sell cheap as i have a few around the house

I can't remember exactly. vagcom or something? Need to connect to a laptop to run multiECUscan.

Thank you Ziggy! Don't know how I didn't find that guide :)

If its a vagcom cable they are very cheap off ebay and multiECUscan is free to download.

It would cost me more to post one to you than they are to buy

Nah, that's fair enough. :)
I've ordered that, as well as the new ISO adapter. Both with free postage, cost me under a tenner so I'm happy.

I'm feeling a bit more confident now to sort these things myself (with some help, of course).

From what i guess from the user name number (96) and you being new driver, i have only been driving a year and i have learnt so much on here. When i first come on here i was constantly asking oldhammer questions as im sure he would agree. But you cant learn without asking for help and the cost of garages you cant go around constantly paying their prices

Glad to see you getting there.

I just saw your post about the mirror adjuster not working. Mine stopped working at one point if its the manual adjuster i unscrewed mine and it screwed back on and worked perfect.

Might be worth a shot

A punto newbie here too! I've got the same issue, i found the guide that explains you how to remove the center console, can that guide be used to hook the stereo to the cigarette lighter or is there an other solution? :)

There is a youtube video by me on how I wired mine up
No soldering just clamp fit and play really

CMaughan96 Ziggy122 Just watched your video and heard you saying that if your radio iso adapter uses the canbus cables it could cause an issue with things such as speedo. Could this be causing the issue with his speedo he has?

Just a thought

Russ

It is possible
if there connected to the stereo its no issues

If it is, the isolate them safely

Oooh, it would be nice if they were linked and I could fix both in one. Here's hoping. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
