General Steering wheel radio controls

Hi all
Today I finally got a punto its a 1996 FIAT PUNTO 75 SX 3 DOOR 1.2L and has a steering wheel with controls to use for the radio. I connected the stereo but the controls do not work is anyone able to offer advice to get them working please? Its for turning the radio volume up down and to search

If it's an after-market stereo it might not work - I know that's the case with Ford & Renault steering wheel controls -from experience they only work with Factory radios

didn't know any of the punto's had steering wheel controls!

thought this was only available on a GT. my gee tee wheel has them, but I just can't be arsed to sort it out.

anyway, you'd need a steering wheel control adaptor, but not all brands of stereo are supported iirc, try caraudiodirect.co.uk

yeah, like matt says, you need the adaptor to suit your headunit.

just choose your brand, and select punto... could probably find them cheaper on ebay if you look

Think the 75 & 85 ELX, Cabrio and GT have them and it was an option on SX models too
