General Steering Wheel Buttons

Finding some buttons on the steering wheel don't always work. The 'main' button is the worse for me. Can press it quite hard and still not get anything.

Wondering how to fix it. Could dirt be interfering or would I need a replacement?

My first inclination would be to spray it with an electrical contact cleaner.

On no account be tempted to use WD40 or anything similar; it will both damage the plastic and leave a greasy residue which will attract dirt and make matters worse.

You'll need to remove the airbag (see the guide on changing steering wheels) and then pry out the button panels from the steering wheel. Then they pop apart easily and you can clean under the rubber contact pads with contact cleaner. I doubt that the spray will make its way in there without disassembly of the button panels.

I have exactly the same issue! so i just use the radio buttons dont even want to try going to fiat to tell them to fix it = ) probably cost me a new steering wheel at 300 euros!
