Technical Steering wheel buttons with new stereo: 500 sport

Hi, the blue and me packed up on my daughters 2010 500 sport so I replaced the old radio with a touch screen unit from Ali-Express (as seen on you tube Love 500 video). The steering wheel buttons won’t link to the unit despite it having a canbus and software on the unit being linked to the make and model of the car. I have removed the old Blue and Me unit as well as I was going to get that repaired before going for a complete new stereo but would be grateful for any suggestions on what to try next. Stereo functions all work perfectly on the new unit but feel like I’m missing something obvious!!!!

Hi, I fitted that one too, can I confirm its the Xtrons one?

If so did you fit all the adaptors ? as mine works fine, and my B&M has also been removed.

Hi GettingBetter, it was a JMCQ 7 inch android 12 unit. I only used the two USB cables, and the GPS and radio aerial plus power and canbus. Left the Sim, camera and mic cables off. Can’t see how that would effect it but as I say I may have missed something obvious??

Did you do a Proxy Alignment?

Not done that and not sure where to start. I’ll have a look on You tube to see how easy it is?

TBH, IMO if you own a Fiat, you need the MES Diagnostic software and adaptors.
