Well I have had a nocking for a bit now comeing from the left side think I have pinpointed it down to the steering rack by any chance does any one know if that steering racks are inter change able ie will the one on my other 1.9 gp I have for parts has the steering rack fit and work with out any problems or so I have to plug it in to the laptop n program it or any thing ?

Thank Alex

Most usual problem with knocking at front end is the anti-roll bar links. They can appear fins, but when removed will reveal wear and play.
Next thing would be to check the track rods, these are the rods from the steering rack to the wheel. They have a ball joint on the inner end that wears, but just the track rod can be replaced.
Both the above are available from Euro, but better prices are probably available elsewhere if you look around.
Fiat list a multitude of different racks for different models, so probably you can't just swap one from your other car. It may well fit, but gearing may be wrong.

I have changed all that parts you have said n I have can see that the left side if the rack has movement in it but the thing is the other car I have is the same engine same year just different colour as I know a lot of the parts are plug and play if that make sense

The rack is purely mechanical, so if they are same model, and year, rack should swap straight over.
I assume the movement is side-side or up-down, indicating a worn bush in the rack. Any play in-out should be same at both ends.
Use this: http://62.106.11.160:8000/navi?COMM...DE=0&PREVIOUS_KEY=HOME&SB_CODE=-1&WINDOW_ID=1
to check if same part is listed for both models. Use the VIN numbers to show only the parts for you vehicle.
