hi all. ive developed a problem with my steering today.i just got the car back from the garage after having the clutch slave cylinder replaced (£60) and have now noticed i have to turn the steering wheel excessively to turn a corner.it wasnt like that prior to taking it to the garage.do you think it has anything to do with replacing the slave cylinder? its a bravo 1.2 with 49000 on the clock,t reg. if not what else could it be?

It will have nothing to do with the cluch, power steering fluid loss. check the level top up and bleed it by running engine and turning steering wheel lock to lock until any bubbles have gone

the fluid level is on the max.im begining to think that the power steering wasnt working fully before hand and it has just loosened up a bit.its just a bit of a worry as im driving to scotland at the weekend.what are the symptoms if the steering rack is fooked?

You could have a gear stripped but you would know about that. Is the steering heavy when engine is not running and then gets easier with engine running? is there a groaning sound coming from the pump?. I would check the flexible hose for any sign of a leak. changing a clutch slave cylinder should not have affected steering.Take off the filler cap and start the engine, turn wheels from lock to lock, do this until there no air bubbles. if that does not cure it then a possible exchange pump. I would not attempt driving it unless i was certain the steering was 100%
