Steering Knocking - Track Rods

Have noticed a knocking noise that can be felt through the steering wheel and the front wheels when turning left sharply whilst stationary. Have so far found it's not the track rod end, so i'm thinking it's possibly the other end that joins into the rack.
Is this even possible to fix or is it all sealed and therefore will need a new rack?

just few guesses

I am not some mechanical car expert but there are my few ideas.

1. (plain one) its not steering? what if problem comes from wheel axis or wheel itself? checked the hull of in space around the wheels? hit anything hard last times?

my friend was solving problem of knocking noise for day or two till he got adivsed he should check the tyres and around and he found NAIL in his tyre

2. there is diagrams avalible in fiat bravo/a service manuals in pdf, got the pdf's ? (http://rapidshare.com/users/LZQCHI password pdftown.com) - steering is in first one; you can consult your unclear imagination with many drawing in there, that should make it very clear to you.

(in case you can't download from rapid just tell)

3. checked fluids level for steering? there is pretty much of some goo (sorry dont know english name) for cars with helped steering.
