Yo yo yo boys and girlie girls!

Got issues with cornering. depending on how i corner sometimes the line of the car tightens up without any additional input.

Ususally when taking sweeping bends about 20/30 yards into the corner, she pulls very noticably in whichever direction im trying to point her in. when corrected she doesnt do it again untill taken on a straight then into a bend again.

She will pull about 10 yards into the corner when giving her some rice and playing about in the twisties.

Sometimes when turning full lock to park her theres a loud knock from the o/s front.

I initially thought it could be the front wishbone or an ARB issue but ive my mucky man hands all over these and cant find anything loose or signs of wear.

I then thought it could be CV joints so i gave the drive shafts some major abuse both on the ground and in the air and i couldnt find any play.

any ideas grately recieved with warm open man arms

(yes i do realise the irony in owning a cinq and refering to "man hands" and "man arms" in the same post)

not a pro in any means in cars but did you think about your steering rack if we have one on seis i just think this as my mums went on her nissan haha worth a thought

Cheers guys will check both on friday... Thats when i next have her in the workshop for 'routine/essential' maintainence. Just out of curiosity SPD what am i looking for on the top mounts? Signs of wear/cracking/etc etc?

I did notice she was sat down on the o/s but i know the cinqs have a natural 'gangster tilt' but it didnt worry me too much at the time even tho it caught my eye because it seemed more pronounced than i remember my other 2 being. Is this a big clue or just the rudeboy lean?

tightening it wont take the slack out. its a taper fit (like a cone)
once the balls is worn:p its time to change the arm.

gimme a shout if you want a good second hand one;)
but new ones arent that much.

usually change in pairs for peace of mind

Unfortuneately SPD even the parts guys down here aren't THAT good.

i could see threads in the gap between the hub carrier and nut so knew i could tighten it to a certain extent...

i ended up jacking under the wish bone and putting SIX high density 2x2 paving slabs in the engine bay to weigh her down. i split the ball joint to make sure it hadnt worn funny and i guess i was quite lucky it didn't. i put it back together and this time i know she went down ok as i could see where the nut used to sit. the arms weren't new when i replaced them for MOT last year and i think i didn't tighten them down enough with my air gun at work (yes i know... schoolboy error for a time served spanner monkey:eek:)

theres a new set of arms on my ever growing shopping list now along with reconditioned rear arms and a polybush kit.

i only found out it was the nut when i posted... i was outside doing my front pads and split washer pipe i just happened to notice it was loose after id already dropped out the strutt to find nothing wrong with the top mount (what a waste of 15 minutes)
