Technical Std. Air Intake:Warm up System?

Do these ACTUALLY work do you reckon?Read a post by an Aussie guy I think who said that in the Uno the vast majority were defective?Certainly all those tiny pipes look sensitive!Think he said theres some kind of "wax switch"(?) involved in them.Guess this tells the warm/cold air flap when to move......

they do work, the wax stat switch you talk of is the little red thing just behind the air filter and it tell the flap where the warm air pipe goes when to open and close, that is if the wax stat works, also works on the manifold vacum
