Technical Starting the car only works the 2nd time??

Hi Guys,

I have a 2010 T-Jet 120HP for about 5 years now.

Last month I started suffering from rough starts but in a weird way - first crank will not work but 2nd will always do!

After about 3 weeks of that, I was stuck in the side of the road, middle of the drive with flashing engine light (first time I got stuck with it ).

4 sparks plug later and a new coil that was busted fixed the issue and my guess was that the start issue as well, but unfortunately no.
I still suffer from this weird behavior, once a day, only the first crank of the day fails, 2nd starts fine and all following starts in the day are fine.

Any idea what might cause this..?

I'd send you to the "cold start issue" topic somewhere down below. Try cranking with a bit of gas pedal, works for me.

I had some issues with cold starts in the past, but never a misfire or failed to start. I used to get the "dancing" revs on cold start, but nothing of this sort...
I'll try the gas at start but it's obviously not a solution... any other thoughts? maybe?

Hi..

Try this:

Pretend its a diesel..

Cycle the ignition twice.. let the fuel pump time out twice..

THEN CRANK ..

If its better.. suspect the fuel pump

Do you have access to OBD kit?
