Starting Problem

My mk2 Fiat Punto 2000 reg, seems to start when it wants to, i have absolutly no chance of starting it in the morning or when cold, and sometimes it has trouble starting from hot. but starts no problems whrn i connect my electronic jump start......... any ideas please if you can

There could be hundreds of explanations for that, you'll need to narrow it down a bit Exactly what happens when you turn the key? does the starter motor crank over at all? when it does start, does it still struggle to get going initially?

if it jump starts then the battery is most likely to be the problem. if you fit a new battery and it happens again after a few days then the alternator isnt charging the battery.
