Technical Starting issues

Hello,

So once a week for the last month of so am having a slight problem when starting the car.

I turn the key and the engine tries to start but then doesn't start the engine it makes some noises then cuts dead.

When turning the key again straight after this it works fine.

Like I said this is only happening once a week, any ideas what it could be?

You'll have to describe "some noises" in more detail.....

i.e. what sort of noises?, does it sound like it's turning over but just not firing ?.... or it's slower cranking ?... or a higher pitched whirring?

Yes, turning over but not starting, lasts for about 3-4 seconds

What lasts for 3-4 seconds ? the unusual noise ?

Yes the unusual noise.

I can't film it as it's only happening about once a week.
