General Starter Motor

Hi Guys, :slayer:

I need to replace my starter motor but, do not have any axle stands as yet and unable to find out what model I actually need. Does anybody know the KW power out put for a 98 Reg Fiat Punto Team 1.2 (8v) engine.

Any help wold be much appreciated. :worship:

It is 0.9kW. The original for petrol engines was made by Magneti Marelli but Fiat seem to have favoured Bosch for both the petrol and diesel models nowadays. And don't be tempted to use anything but axle stands; it really hurts to have the weight of the bellhouse wedged in your mouth.

I can now go and purchase one to have agreat time fitting it....oh and need the axle stands, like you said 'bellhousing' meeting mouth does not sound inviting plus i like my teeth...lol

Good luck. If you are working outside, in today's weather, don't forget a mat to lie on. I used the interior mats and I have the wet clothes to prove their inadequacy.
