right me being the idiot i am may have void my warranty and broken my car :(

right i was attempting to wire a sub woofer, i was trying to run the power cable through the rubber seal behind the glove box(where all the wires seem to go). i punctured a small hole in the rubber next to it to try and push the power cable through. the car was left (accidently) in gear. the car suddenly learched forward and a moment later something behind the air filter started to smoke(burnt out) any idea what it could be? any checks i could do before i get in touch with the dealership and have to fork out lots of money :(

Hi,
location wise it may be from the starter,

1st check the cables around the battery,
if all looks good =

try all your other minor electrics , building up to wiper motors and Lights,

then put the ignition on and let the check sequence run..,
if all seems o.k.
then depress the clutch and try to start the engine,
check to see if the battery light goes out with the engine running.( alternator charging),
any issues let us know,

Charlie

wires around the battery seem fine, I've checked if any of the wires near where i entered were damaged no visible signs of damage(although will investigate further tomorrow) when i flick the ignition the stereo and lights turn on fine, but when i try to actually start it won't turn over just seems to click(probably should have said that first, like i said idiot here!) it seems to be clicking around the T07 in the fuse box, what does this do? can i check it some how?
