HI guys,

My starter motor fails to start my 1100 uno. Replaced bandix", brushes, bushes even new new soloniod spring but stil the problem prevails.

What it does is when i turn the key its like it just spins. i checked the flywheel for warn out but its fine. I tested it on battery outside and it seem to spin forword in a rotating manner and some slow turns no and then.

Electric connetions is working.
I realy tired of push starts!

PLEASE HELP!!!

It certainly sounds like a mystery from here :).

You have replaced the spring but not the solenoid. Right? Anyhow I suggest you mark the flywheel to check if it actually spins (?). It could happen that the solenoid is not working perfectly and the starter pinion doesn't even latches onto the flywheel. That happened to a BMW R1150GS motorbike of a friend of mine. These motorbikes have starters of cars! We have then replaced the solenoid and happy days again.

i hav a gut feeling it could be the soloniod. i only replace the long spring inside soloniod not the rear one. wil buy a new one tomorow and give some feed back.

If the pinion on the motor is spinning freely, it must be that the solenoid is not working properly to move it near enough the flywheel. Other than what you have already checked for, it is the only explanation.

Guys,
It was a wrong bendix drive, darn me! or the local mec.

All is good now, no more push to start

Yes the mec put on a small amount of grey in colour grease, thats abouy all i know.

Next up: Replaceing the both outer and inner c.v. joints.
