Hi everyone, once again my little Zastava ran into an issue. Last night it worked properly when I started it, now it won't budge. After some examination, I noticed it has no spark. I changed the ignition coil, spark plug leads, checked and cleaned the distributor cap, I checked the distributor capacitor and it didn't leak/bulge, put in new spark plugs...still no spark. All other electricals work fine (lights, blinkers, radio, instrument panel). I have no clue what could cause the no spark issue.

Can anyone provide a clue? I'm baffled.

It's a 1988 Zastava 128, direct Fiat copy. 1.1L SOHC engine.

Did you only have a look at the distributor capacitor or did you actually test it?

1. With ignition on, does the capacitor feel warm?
2. If you have a infrared thermometer (or a thermal camera) does the capacitor heat up?
3. Test the behavior of the capacitor with a multimeter - does it hold a charge?
4. Are the contacts of the distributor cap still good or are they worn out?
5. You didn't mention the distributor finger, is it actually installed (lol)? What's its condition?
6. How much current does the ignition coil draw with ignition on? (does it actually see any voltage)
7. What's the condition of the earth cable?
