i saw that thread and didnt think much to his manifold and i told him all about the ja mani and even showed him the thread and he reckons ja just needed a ss mani to copy exactly he said its not hard especially if u have one in front of you:D
ive always used ja manis and systems on my old fords as they gave the best sound and always found them better than janspeed(y)

JA wanted the car, engine, and a supersprint manifold. Oh and a large sum of money.

In all honesty there are 2 manifolds out there that will fit, and one is overly priced, the other is fairly priced.

If you say he can copy the manifolds, and will fit fine then I am interested (y).

Thank

Whitz if u had seen this smart car after the crash and the driver had to be air lifted i think u would change ur mind!!!!

The Smart is undeniably safer than a Cento. No suprise considering the age gap of the designs.

Problem with a Smart is that it is too small to have large crumple zones, it's rigid instead - this means if it hits something that isn't soft then the deceleration forces are quite harsh, leading to internal injuries despite no contact with the dash.

(been in two accidents in Smart cars. lol )

Do any Smart owners let you anywhere near them anymore? :D

I thought this about cov's 2.0 Sei the other day - after the accident it didn't look too bad compared to a regular Cento crash, possibly due to him adding some bars - but the energy from the crash has got to go somewhere (other than into the Ka it hit).

BTW despite being newer, safer and not made of Kit-Kat foil a ForTwo weights around the same as a Cinq or Sei.

still rather have a cinq than a smar car any day.

if the chap could make a mani for the 8v that would also be handy

Been soo busy the last 3 weeks aint got a single bit done in that time but have managed to pick up a punto gt fuel pump for £6 and it works perfectly and also got the larger tb off a 1.6 marea which is the direct fit to the inlet £20 delivered(y)and thats already on the inlet as in the pics
Got a few days off this week so will be getting a few bits done and on thursday ive got to go and collect a 6 speed box with a brand new clutch and then change bits over ready to go into the cinq...£50 what a result and its only done 40000 miles:D:D

Over the last 3 days got a few silly bits done like getting all the wings back on properly all sealed up,punto gt fuel pump fitted, gearbox cleaned up,headlights back in place and connected, few other odds and sods put back in place as the itinerary has changed quite drastically today as the mrs rover has finally given up the ghost and is getting buried:D:D and she said my cinq would be dead first :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: and she now wants the imola blue cinq off me and has just driven it for the first time and she loves it:cry: so now i have to get the abarth done asap so im hoping everything will now come together for me at the right time:worship::worship:
i know the gearbox will need to come out again just put it in there to check the steering lock and it clears perfectly, the pic is how it stands at the momment....wiring loom comes next...

As it was yours and you're a bloke I'll assume it's nice and tidy inside, so there is still a load of space on the back seat for her to fill up with coats (my Mum filled the back of her old Cinq nearly up to the windows).

started getting the cinq d4 onto the punto mk1 sporting engine loom and i have been searching all the different threads on the different coloured wires to connect and they all seem to conflict each other:confused::confused:
i have connected wires according to 1 thread and check on 2 others and wires are connected wrong:confused::confused::confused:
can someone plz help by finding me the correct link i have spent 3 hours searching and have got nowhere apart from extremly confused and getting very angry:bang::bang:

thats what i had been using but then checked against other threads and they contradict each other so which do i use? and do i also have 5 or 6 wires left coming out the d4 that are doing nothing???

use this, i wire Whitz car and mine using it.

Right here is the pin lay out from Punto to cento (pins number)

Black Red - Bullet connector
Grey yellow - pin 6
pink yellow - pin 4
thin grey green - pin 9
Thick orange - Orange. This one doesn't have a pin number but is 2 row right of pin8
Thick red - No Use
Black - pin 8
Brow white - Pin 1 it doesn't say on the connector but is to the left of pin2
Blue - pin 3
Blue black - Pin 2
grey white - pin 7
grey black - no use

Ming

right now the problem i have is i have no black wire to connect to pin8 orange/blue on the d4...all i have left coming out the punto loom is a grey/black also on the d4 there are 2 blue/white wires i know i have used 1 as per ur guide what about the other?:worship:

Ah yes, there is a mistake there.

See the pin number on the cento side that has white/ light blue wire. There are 2 of them don't connect that to the punto engine loom and you don't need to use those 2 wires on the punto loom just blank them off!

Wire the white/light blue directly to the reverse switch on the gear box.

I will confirm the black wire, but do you have all other wire on my list?

Thanks
Ming
