General ===Standard Cinq Sporting Springs===

Hi
I work in Halfords (a jobs a job) and i was looking through the bilstein catalogue and i`m sure it listed an ultra low kit 60mm,I`ll double check tomorrow and let you know.
Cheers

just imagine it,

your tearing down some country lane you take a corner quite sharp doing 40mph and !BOING!!! your spring pops out, the car drops to the ground, scrapping and grinding your lovely body work to buggery, whilst you try to battle with staying on the road and trying not to skid into a ditch.
i don't think that crushed bumper, flattened exhaust, buggerd floor pan and buggerd sideskirts, buggerd suspension will polish out!

see what happens when your imagination takes over!

Hi
I think the bilstein kit is about £240 complete but thats from memory as i haven`t` been to work for a couple of days
So i`ll let you know for definate on monday evening
Cheers

Please - DON'T cut your springs. It's really dangerous, Your car will suck round corners and your bumpstops/suspension struts WILL be shagged in 6 months flat. Stop being a cheapskate and fork out for a pair of springs, I doubt they are that expensive for such a little car. (y)

You'd need 4 Pinin and the springs for mine were £140, quality doesn't come cheap and neither does some of these parts for cars even as small as the Cinq.

I did mention to the guy though that a set will come up for sale soon at a good price cos like you I'm against the cutting.

I was under the impression Springs would be cheap for the 'cento? £140 sounds like a lot to me. I'm sure You could get them cheaper than that, I know you have gone for the quality option BUT any lowering springs would be better than the "Bah humbug" cutting option hey (y)

Cutting springs isnt ok, the length of the metal rod coiled to make your springs is that length for a reason.

Once you cut a coil out, you shorten the length and bugger up the handling.

Get some custom ones made if u want it lower.

The front wheels will not sit under the arches unless you remove the arch liners( note if you do that then the engine does not have as much protection from the weather and roads), but then that gives you the problem of having the front of the car too low for normal road. As when the springs and shocks compression as you go over bumps/speedbumps the under side of the front of the car will catch. IIRC correctly Chubbston ripped of his zorst on a speed bump (highlights the problems of going low). You can have the wheel inside the archs on the rear of a cinq without having to remove anything.

Also when you are wanting to carry heavy loads it can be a right pain. U don't want to damage your little cinqy. You will only regret it :D:D
