Im cutting my springs

how much shud i cut off the top to make the car sit low and have the wheels in the arch

but still high enough to not scrape the road

i no ppl say dont cut ure springs - but im gona cut them, then weld a thick-ish plate across the top to spread the pressure

my brothers mate cut the springs on his car and they used to pop out when u jacked it up he also said he regreted it.

any who
how low should i cut them?

m8 doin the mot's
I hope that's a joke, what's the point in having a MOT if "mates" can pass a dangerous car?

:(but no 1 does a set of decent low like 70mm set of springs for a cinq

thats y i was gonna cut them:(

I know you can get a PROPER set of -60mm lowering springs as Chubbston was selling some a little while ago. Send him a PM he might still have them for sale.

look just got a spring out of my sock draw to show you. see how the botton is flat? and if you cut then further up there no way its going to sit propper? sorry

FK automotive do some 70mm at front and 50mm at rear springs... but ideally if u are goin that low u should invest in shorter shocks! it will go a bit lower with shorter shocks!!!

but if u want the springs only go to www.performancedriven.co.uk

Agree with what's posted above, don't do it - it's unsafe. Get properly made lower springs.

My silver one's 50 - 55mm down and I can't get into the post office depot near me to collect all my cinqy parcels. Rubber speed bump catches the ARB and floorpan.

i wouldn't cut them,
but you could try heating them up!
problems with this method is, over heat 1 spring more then the others and the car will hang,
the ride will be a bit bouncy,
and its very hard to heat up the springs in such a tight working area (u'll end up setting fire to the arch covers)

just take the suspension out. probably about as safe as cutting the springs!
