General standard cd player

can anybody tell me if the standard clarion cd player has any preouts for an amp. i tried to have a look but am to much of a fat c**t to fit under there

Your car should have the manual for it and it should say in there.
If not do a search for your stereo including the model number and you will find out, hopefully

i know its called "clarion pu2312"
but the manual is crap and google brings up nothing

yep thats what it says in big letters on the manual
the manual is produced by fiat though not clarion and only has basic instructions in there

i tried looking with a mirro and torch but couldnt really see. i get the feeling it hasnt got any though
cant afford new headunit aswell as the other stuff

how easy is it to pull the head unit out to have a look behind it?

Normally it has some sort of security keys that fit down the side of the headunit to release it from the cage, then it pulls out.

woohoo even if it doesnt have preouts you can buy converters that takes 2 speaker channels and changes into a preout and there less than a tenner

but a preout is before the internal headunits amplifier and a speaker channel is after

and if you are plannin to fit it you will have to take the headunit out a t some point - i'd do it before spending any money - i don't think i have ever seen a cd player without pre-outs

With a decent ICE system get the best headunit you can buy, i would upgrade this first

I agree with Centoevo. Get the best you can afford all round, starting with the headunit. Although not super quality, the Sony Xplod range is stylish and affordable. I'm still using 2 front kenwood speakers and a cheepo Sony tape deck...ewwwww! Sounds awful

If it is a Cinq you have got without a middle console like earlier models or if you haven't, this might be useful for others. Get the radio casing out by just reaching under the dash and thumping it! lol

i managed to get it out using 2 flat dinner knives 1 down each side
just went pop and came forward.

it didnt have any pre outs though
so a new one is on the list
