Technical Squeling noise

Hi guys just a quick one i was doing around 40mph and there was a loud squeling noise coming from the engine but when i slowed down the noise quietend and the oscilations slowed
Anyine know what this is?

Squealing noises are usually belts that are slipping because something that is supposed to be turning isn't or the belt is loose. Usual suspects are the alternator belt and/or bearings , the timing belt tensioner or waterpump.

My mk2 Punto made squelching noises on the drive every morning. Went away when driven. Never investigated it in the end.

Ill check and see if its happening when i rev or what
But its not as extreme as a belt slipping (much)

Id put my money on being alternator, as i had similar noise before and i put a new belt on and the noise stopped. But your issue maybe different but i thought id add to this

Most likely candidates are alternator (remove belt, see if noise stops). If it doesn't stop, suspect the other one -- the cam belt tensioner.

Really, though, you need to work out at least whether it happens when moving or stationary.

Only when im up to a speed and crusing or acclerating at speed weird

So, when the car isn't moving (I mean, it's in neutral) and you accelerate what happens?

Nothing but im starting to suspect its the injectors
Its the sort of whining noise when you first start your car and the pump is priming just alot louder and from the engine
But its only if i let off the throttle i noticed if i was at high speed

I'd highly doubt its injectors, they are quiet during operation of the vehicle. Likely culprits, alternator or timing belt tensioner, (as already mentioned)
