spinngin grinding tapping noise.

Hi people ive had a search through the previous posts but cannot seem to find any answers. sorry if this is a repitition problem which may have been posted before. Just yesterday i was making my way to kingston and when i had depressed the accelerator i heard this cog tapping like noise. it sounded as if it was comming from the passenger side most likely from the front. the sound that i heard basically slowed down as the car slowed down. when i pressed the accelerator the sound dissappeared. I had a look earlier on today in the engine bay and around the wheels and inside the arches to make sure nothing got caught and was hitting the wheel as they spun but i cudnt find anything. Is there anyone who has had a similar problem and managed to find out what it was?

Right the 2 common causes for noise from wheels is.


1) the wheel nuts aren't tight - come loose - or you've had the wheel off and even tho you know they are tight they come loose after a few days.


2) the ABS sensor wire has snapped, worn through, come off and it's tapping against the wheel.



Give them a go... if neither take the wheel off and check you haven't got a tiny stone between the brake disc & pad OR disc & back metal guard.
