Technical Speedometer Problem

I have a 8v 1.2 Dynamic 2005

I have recently noticed that the speedo seems to be playing up as it says
im doing 40mph when it seems im doing 20mph. Just seems inaccurate.

can anybody help as it may be a sensor and i have no idea where this maybe.

Hi, this info is supplied by the ABS wheel speed sensors on cars with this fitted, the speed sensor you are looking for is located on the top of the transmission diff housing, disconnect the wiring connector and then unscrew sensor from diff housing,hopefully it's just bad connections.

Hi pardon my ignorance where is the Diff Housing, im no expert on engines
at all. would not know where to look.

Hi, as said before the vehicle speed information is sent from the ABS speed sensors but I have discovered that ref to diff is incorrect, from the sensors info is sent to the E.C.U & onto the speedo. The sensors are found on each wheel and can get dirty so may just need cleaning,this is suggested as a routine job so get yourself a haynes manual(4746) it will be in there,we all had to start somewhere & you can save money as well, goodluck mate.
