Technical speedometer fault

Hello All,

Wondering if anyone can help. A few times when driving the speedo drops to zero. It will then go to indicate the right speed about a minute later. Can be less. Has anyone come across this fault? It does not happen that often but I take it the problem with become more persistent.

First question
Is it an abs punto
Or jon abs punto

As there is a big difference

If non - most likely a duff speed sensor
But thats going on a whim

It's a fiat Punto Active Sport 8v. It's one with abs. Any possibility of what the fault might be? I thought it might be the speed sensor or fault connection with the dashboard.
