Technical speedo sensor

Hi, I asked about my speedometer problem on this forum before but because of a back operation I am only getting around to doing something about it now. Anyway after doing some checks I'm convinced there is no signal getting to the speedo. Does anybody know where the speed sensor is located. I don't think it's connected to an abs sensor as the abs is working perfectly.
Hope someone can help as I'm going to end up with lots of points on my license the way things are.

Normally speedo sensors are fitted via a worm drive in or on the gearbox ill try and find out and secondly get a sat nav to do the speed for now.
