General speedgear gearshift chrome peeling off

the chrome on the gear shift is starting to peel off ..(the part that you press to move the gear shift)..is there a replacement i can get

Are you talking about the gear knob????
if so you can get these anywhere in about a million different styles.,., try car accessory shops but try to avoid flashy crome ones as they usually (like you said) peel or scratch and dull down

this is the punto speedgear its and automatic shift and would have to be a specialist part was just wondering if anyone else had same problem and can you get a replacement part.

would be a scrappy job i reckon, would be expensive new

didn't beau buy one off ebay, despite it being for a mk2, when he needed a mk1 part?

I have exactly the same problem, it's flaking off the left edge and i can't seem to find a replacement anywhere on the net, i think a trip to the scrappy would be my only hope. If you find one let us know
