Technical spedo not working

i have a fiat 500 1.2 2018 lounge the Speedo has stopped working just wanted to know where is the spedo sensor located and has any one fixed this problem and what would the part number be for the Speedo sensor thanks in advance

There is no speed sensor it gets the speed reading from the abs system/ECU



Does the Speedo read at all?
Does it show zero or samtay in the off position?

No it was working abruptly but now stopped i have done a fault code check and it is clean

If the entire speedo cluster is dead (no lights, coolant, fuel or anything) then that's a different problem to the speedometer shows "0" when the car is moving.

The speedo' works via a stepper motor on the back, and stepper motors can fail even though it's quite rare. A speedo' fixing place can put a new one on for you... but if you're handy with a soldering iron then you could try to track down a new one and fit it yourself. For the hassle involved I'd be inclined to send it to a pro'.

just the speedo and it sometimes works and then it dont

Do the needle move at all?
Or just stay in the "off position


Or does it sweep around at startup and sit at zero

No it dont move on start up but some times it will bounce of 0 when the ignition goes on and i now it will work and times it wont move at all

If the Speedo cluster is okay apart from the speedometer itself then it's likely to be the stepper motor. My Stilo had a moody fuel gauge that did the "flicking" on - off and various random behaviour before becoming permanently unresponsive.
