The Punto volume goes up to 26 - on the standard speakers they are crackly at that volume and unclear. If i bought new speakers would the sound be crisp at 26?

Thanks

depends on the quality of the speakers and the quality of the head unit to be honest. It may not be up to pumping out hi quality sound at that level even if hte speakers are up to it.

or but uprated head unit and replace all current speakers with better ones so it looks standard but in fact is much better. If you haveit done professionally the sound will be quality and probably sound better than a pair of 6x9's in the parcel shelf.

???? lol 6x9's fail because they are built to go into parcel shelfs. its there design. however most audio tech's will explain that the way they are designed fails. they are ment to be slim and compact for ideal fitting. how ever they try and play bass, treb and high? this is also where they fail.

A sub is built for basss.. thats its job.

Then you only want treb and highs inside the main cabin off the car.

Tweeters at ear level if you can and then mid's 2 in front and 2 in parcelshelf. both sets running off crossovers.

Also peopel say havin 6x9's and a sub fail as the air the 6x9's push into the boot ****s the audio waves off the sub.

I Dont want to spend too much money. The speakers i was gonna get were Alpine speakers.

How much for a new head unit? - only problem i have with this, is that it will look out of place wont it?

Thanks

My budget is around £50 -£60

If you could find some within ths budget that you think will do the job - link me.

No youl end up blowing up the speakers.

What you need to be looking for is RMS power level.
The amp outputs 150 watts RMS, but the speakers only accept 30 watts RMS, so basically when u turn the amp past 30 watts, ul blow the speakers.

Your speakers should ideally be rated higher than what ur gonna put into them, to cover yourself i.e 150W amp, get 200w speakers.

Only ever look at the RMS value as well, PMPO or peak values dont mean a thing, all they are is the max level a speaker can peak too, it dosnt mean the speaker will stay at that level constantly which it would be if u had it cranked up.

Hope this helped a bit!
