speaker problems

my car speakers don't work checked the back of the head unit its all fine all plugged in, but the only speakers that work are off of the amp! whats going on?
no front dash or door speakers working??

The possible cause are :-
1)Could be that somewhere in between the HU and speakers the wires are knackered or not connected.
2)Could be the front speaker are blown
3)Could be that the HU's front channel has gone
4)Maybe the wiring is like the Landrover disco where they share a common ground and it shorted everything.

If I were you take out the HU, get some speaker cable, get a WORKING speaker and wire it up will the HU is out and see if it works.
If it works use the door speakers to see if they still work
If nothing works most probably the problem is at the HU

Oh but before doing all this, i dont know if you have a setting but on my alpine i can turn the internal amp off so it only runs off the external amp, just do a quick check to see if its this. Sorry if that sounds really obviously or you've already done. Dont wanna make you think im being patronising. Good luck sorting it out. Hopefully its not the HU.
