I think they are very good plugs but not worth it unless you're having trouble with yours which you're not...

I wouldn't bother with those iridium plugs there a complete waste of money, and as for lasting 60k well if ur engine isn't as clean as a new one then the plugs will eventuly give up because of deposits building up on the end of the plug.
I have a very good parts supplier near my work and because we buy so much stuff from them i get parts really cheap.
i use DENSO PLATINIUM PLUGS, these are like super 4's only better and last longer. We use them in all our customers cars at work and never get a problem and in my uno turbo they are great, it never misses a beat...
The exact part number for a mk1 turbo is K22PBR-S and i see on the net they are charging over a fiver each so thats around £24 quid a set plus postage, however i can get them for just over £11 for a set of 4 and they are brill, if you cant get them near you then i can supply you with a set posted to ur door for around £13-£14 quid, cus i'm nice like that...

Well if any body would like sum then pm me and i can sort them out...
Cheers rob(y)

6 years on the same plugs

Seriosuly change them and I bet you notice a difference even if it seems fine now (y)

Denso Irdiums if you've got the cash or Eon2's (or is it EON1's  ) are good comprimise cheaper and still good

:)

they are 6 years old but the car was in a lockup for 3 years and didn't turn a wheel, then i bought it with electrical probs (connection under the exspansion bottle you know the one) anyway stripped whole car down, engine out etc, repaired and painted the shell inside outside and underneath, put it back together, repaired the wiring loom, mot'd and has covered nearly 4k and thought them plugs are one of the only things i hav'nt changed, so i'm going to treat her to a set, also how long is that coil to dizzy wire thats on the hit list, a few pics of her going back together what a relief

My spark plugs are probably also about six years old

It was quoted as a replacement task for the strange 7,500km service interval on the Mk1 Turbo, along with the engine oil and filter. Clearly the engine was considered to be working hard to deserve such relatively frequent oil/plug changes.

I have Bosch triple-electrode plugs in mine, that have probably done about 10,000km but looked fine when I last checked them.

My father used to talk of all the gimmicks used on spark plugs over the years (apparently in the 30's there was even a spark plug with a tiny fan to spin around and blow the spark across the combustion chamber). As he said, the spark always takes the shortest path at the end of the day; you don't necessarily get four sparks from a four-electrode plug. However, I believe that multi-electrode spark plugs are more than a gimmick - they spread the wear across several electrodes.

I notice that my original ignition leads still seem to be in good condition...

antsuno - that's a lovely job! I like the proper painting inside... (y) though you painted the exposed parts (seat rails) black, negating your efforts in such a complete painting?

-Alex

cheers alex, the seat rails and around the handbrake are originaly black, i havn't touched them they are original, i nearly blasted white over them but masked them up and left them, and when you refit the carpet it all blends in nice, does anyone know how long the ht lead from coil to dizzy is, i removed mine measured it and have forgot
