Maybe a basic question but I am struggling - does anybody know the recommended spark plug make and gap for a 1997 bravo 1.4 engine. Any replies gratley appriciated

on the same subject, is it an easy job to change the plugs, as i am thinking about attempting it myself, and do the leads just pull off the plugs?

It is a simple job to change the plugs. There is a shroud that covers access to the plugs. Four torx (I think they are called) screws hold it in place. Take it off, pull the leads off the plugs and you have access to the plugs. A swivel headed plug spanner wil be best tho as the plugs can be a bit difficult to get at. You shouldnt need to undo any other paraphanalia but if you do it is only likely to be the cover for the injextion unit which comes away with three nuts.

If you are unsure of the age of the leads it may be a good idea to change them whilst you are at it.

Spark plugs come pre set with the correct gap. There is no need to change it.

If they are worn then change them.

When you change the plugs, do them one at a time. Pull a lead out, change the plug and then put lead back on. Move onto next plug, and so on.

The only reason why I say that is because if you pull all the leads off the plugs, you've gotta remember which lead goes where.

Insy.
