I read in an old thread that some Multipla road wheels fit in the "skinny" (space saver) spare wheel bay under the Multipla. Has anyone any idea if a road wheel with tyre spec 195/60 R15 would fit? My Multipla was supplied with one of those useless one-shot-scrap-the-tyre inflator systems and I really need to get a spare whell on board. I don't have the spare wheel cradle, otherwise I could measure for myself.
I'd really appreciate any advcie anyone can give.

Hi Zundapp, many thanks for that information. My Multi has alloy wheels, but I suppose that if the tyre size is the same, the wheel being alloy instead of steel should make little difference. If the standard road wheels fit in the bay under the car, I wonder why Fiat ever supplied space saver wheels, as I have been told they did.
Cheers, Greenman

Cost cutting. The same reason that I also have a new Bravo with a £5 air pump and a canister of sealant - hopefully soon to be replaced with a proper spare wheel! :D

I should perhaps point out that the 2nd-hand steel wheel I have as the Multi spare came with a 185 tyre rather than a 195, but due to the profile, the rolling diameter is the same, so an alloy should also fit in the space.

In terms of legislation, under the old Construction and Use Regulations you could use one tyre size up or down on the same axle without legal issues. This however, isn't the case for MoT purposes.
