Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone would recommend online car parts retailers - new or second hand.

There seems to be quite a few - are there any Fiat specialists?

Cheers

yes me... work for fiat, pm me your details and i will look into it for you!

Cheers, Not sure exactly what i need yet. Car is playing up as i have been describing in Punto forum - i am thinking its either ECU or Alternator as it seems to be having trouble with electrics.

Should be getting it checked in next couple of days with diagnostics machine - once i know the problem will come back to you with what i need if its something i fancy doing myself.

Cheers

Hi, I used an online parts supplier recently, www.partsgateway.co.uk

Good service, they check loads of breakers and dealers to find good pre-used spares. You can pay by card or cheque, my windscreen washer bottle split one night and the quote I got from Fiat was £116 , I finally got a used part from partsgateway for less than £25 including post and packing. You can return the part for a full refund if it's not upto the job.

The water bottle for a '97 Marea 20v is a difficult part to find, it is moulded to fit tight in to the wing and to curve around the wheel arch, when you see one you realise what an odd shape it is compared to the usual water bottle. Partsgateway contacted over 100 suppliers and breakers, eventually found one in Lincolnshire. The only criticism I had was that they didn't clean it before they sent it out, but thats no big deal. The part itself was less than £20, P+P was about £7. When you compare that to what Fiat wanted it was a bloomin good deal. :p
