General Spacesaver wheel

That's not true! I didn't pay the full retail price, I didn't take the 0% finance offer and I definately got the 5yr warranty. If the dealer wants your business tell him YOUR terms for a sale and make sure you get it in writing before you leave the showroom.

Picked up my new T-jet Sport 150 yesterday and it DOES have a space saver in the boot!

Mind you this may have been an added extra, as I also found it has electric rear windows which i didnt ask for! :D

A salesman I know told me the full-size spare wheel demanded by a buyer was a dealbreaker, so he had to provide one, plus whatever cop-out the car came with. If the spare just sat in the boot, too bad, the punter apparently didn't care. At least this way the punter has peace of mind and can get home from the airport at midnight, in the middle of winter, at Christmas, in the rain, with all the garages closed for five days - which happens.

I wouldn't buy any car without a full size spare - period.

This Warranty business (as with the spare wheel) sounds like a complete cock-up to me. Either Fiat are giving the Bravo a 5 year warranty, with a written confimation to say it's 5 years, or theyre not. If they advertise 5 years & then write to you saying it's 3 then surely that constitutes false advertising & they could be prosecuted.

That's like sainsburys saying £10 off any bill over £50 and then only knocking £2.50 off when you get to the check-out - they'd get slaughtered for that, and so should Fiat if they refuse to honour the 5 year warranties.

Yes, it is a cock up and Fiat have only just realised it. That's why they're working on a new service & warranty book that says 5 years. But surely it would be simpler for them and better for existing customers if they just wrote a nice letter to everyone confirming it's 5 years. It should be a no brainer for most manufacturers, but remember Fiat was ranked 29 out of 30 manufacturers by Auto Express readers.

after a letter to arnold clark and my supplying dealer have got it sorted.

Well I've just sent a wee email to Fiat UK to see what they say about the 5 year warranty I dont have on a new Bravo I collected on Thursday!

I'll keep you all posted, although that has been 3 hours since I emailed them...

dj you have mail buddy, sorry i could not be more helpfull, as you can see it was not as cut and dry as yours seems to be. keep ontop of it

Well i got a phone call from fiat UK this morning and have been told i will not get any assistance from them in getting a space saver wheel even though when i bought the car the fix & go kits were being fazed out in favour of the space saver wheel.
I told them my concerns of the fix & go kits but the woman said to me you bought an ex-demo so i bought as seen and because it was built before sept i am not entitled to the space saver wheel, i told her what if the tyre was to blow or wheel get damaged, she said the only way that would happen was if i was driving illegally on bald tyres and that if is a big word, cheeky bloody cow,i was then told if i am that concerned go buy a kit £250, £19 per goo cannister.
She did try to cut me off at one point which is when i told her not to even try that, so in the end to cut this story short otherwise it will end up like book if i keep writing, i was told basically live with it or splash out:mad:

If you bought a new car this year then you'd have excellent grounds for demanding a spare wheel, but it was technically a used car built around the time the fix n' go kits were starting to phase out in production.

Look on the bright side. The wheel is quite heavy and may slightly affect your 0-60 and mpg! You don't want that, not from your lovely T-Jet 150! :-D

why dont you just get a s/h set up? im sure you could get a jack and spare wheel for around 50 quid!

Dont know why i put £19 for the goo, that is what i got already:eek:the woman has done my head in.
Oh well just have to get spare like i said ages ago, more bloody expense, sorry but the woman at fiat p***ed me off a tad speaking to me like i was a kid.

I've found the guys at Fiat customer services really good to speak to! Not got a scooby what they are talking about, but they are nice as pie!

What number were you dialling to get to Fiat?

They phoned me up, it was fiat customer services i don't know what position she held there but it must have been managerial, she talked to me as if i was a kid and basically told me they will not not help me out in any way as i don't have grounds to ask for a space saver wheel.
Some are nice and helpful there but she was just plain nasty to me(n)

Picked up my Sport yesterday.....1st thing I looked at was in the boot-it came with spare wheel(16"...I think..space saver, & with all the bits...the jack helped me put the mudflaps on today-or wouldn't have bothered in buying them!! ) ....May Fiat be changing back to spares?!?!?!?

Now if they'd just said 'we'll send you a spare' or 'we'll grant permission for the dealer to give you a spare for free' you'd have been amazingly happy & told all ur mates how wonderful Fiat are, but as it is, she's spoken to you like a kid, now you hate her & are less likely to recommend Fiat. Not really the right way for them to go about getting more larger size Fiats (ie Bravos) on the road.

Bless em, they just don't get it do they!

Hmm do you think its worth taking the matter up at the main dealer where i got the car, the only thing is because my Bravo was pre august it didn't have the spacesaver wheel and that is where one argument may start.

blebravo did you know at the time that the car had the fix and go kit and no spare wheel? i ask because if you knew about this why did you not take it up with the dealer at the time? think about it from fiat's point of view, you purchased the car with the fix and go kit, later fiat introduce a spare wheel, you request a spare wheel for free as in your opinion the fix and go kit is inadequate for all occasions ( i agree ), around the same time didn't fiat increase the price by 500 quid? so peopel with the spare wheel prob paid 500 more than you! from what you are saying i do feel fiat could have handled the situation better.

At the time of buying the car it had the repair kit, so i asked if there was no spare wheel rather than that, but at the time i was told a spare wheel would not fit the Sport Bravo, i know that is complete and utter rubbish but as it was a new model i didnt know any better, this was back in October last year.
Something that else that has occured to me now is this, what about the Bravo's in the compounds,if there are still some there with the repair kit and not the spare wheel would that automatically be changed at the dealers so that it matched the now standard feature, plus why did they decide to change to the spare wheel on the Sports version like mine.
I know i would be better off trying to get blood out of a stone now as it is quite clear no one is going to budge it just means i am going to have to pay out for something that should really have been there in the first place rather than them repair kits.

Picked up my Bravo 150 tjet sport 5 days ago and it does have a spacesaver spare wheel. :)
