sound proofing?

hi,

right, im staring to get fed up with exhaust noise and the boot rattling with every bass line so i thinkin about soundproofing, - is dynamat the best way to go or is there a cheaper alternative? (i uppose the cheapest option would be to put the old exhaust back on and turn the stereo down)

i reckon im gonna need 30 - 40 sq feet to do the boot floor, the boot lid and the corner of the boot by the exhaust, does this seem about right or am i miles out?

also, would it make a difference to the exhaust noise if i were to lay a wide strip along the floor that followed the line of the exhaust? (its a cat back system and it kinda drones)

i used 200square feet in mine and i havent even done the roof yet! go for second skin damplifier pro it is miles better than dynamat extreem and cheeper it comes in packs of 36sq feet. it is awesom stuff works wonders in the doors! you have heard my system what more can i say!

Also to note that its sound deadening, not sound proofing. BIG difference.
