under bonnet sound proofing

Do the Bravo's come with sound proofing under the bonnett? if so... some b*sta*d garage has stolen mine at some point!

My 1.2 80sx didnt have it but it does know!

I think its only the bigger engines that have it.

That explains it then!

I never looked in the past and was looking at the mist washer conversion, from the guide realised I didnt have it there.

Will get it from the scrappies tomorrow. Has it made any difference?

well my 1.4 has it, the JTD had it but the 1.8 and HGT didn't.


I think it's something that gets removed wen dirty and never gets replaced.....

Yes, under bonnet blanket is on bigger engine models, and will reduce some noise. On a smaller motor ie a 1.2, its prob not worth adding as the engine is smaller in size thus letting more road dirt getting flung onto it. Then of course it holds water and will encourage corrosion.

I used to clean under mine with car wax, so at least when dirty, a quick wet chammy cleans it up again.

If your thinkin of reducing noise in the car, first best thing is add sound deadening mats in the doors and rear quarters.

I havnt got one on mine BUT i did get one off shaun,does it make a big difference or is it not worth putting back on?
Also,if its on,its gona get hot (obviously) whereas technically its best to have cold air going to ya engine isnt it and letting the engine breath?
