I'm 19, drive a V plate 1.2 punto 60 s with 1 years no claims. Adrian Flux quoted me £862 for my renewal ( a lot less than the £1450 I was paying last year!) for the car as standard. I got a quote with tinted rear lights, cc bumpers, alloys, tinted rear windows and lowered suspension and it came out as £935. To me this sounds reasonable, what do you guys think? Obviously its still a lot of money though :(

Cheers (y)

Not a bad price really TBH...i was paying around that on my mums insurance when i was 19!

I've phoned Chris Knott who were able to beat it by around 10%, but they don't offer breakdown cover. Whereas my quote from Adrian Flux does, and the equivalent cover would cost around £110 with the AA. Just going to ring back Chris Knott and see if they can lower their quote taking into account the cost of breakdown cover. Wish me luck :D

Spoken to Chris Knott, and apparently they do offer breakdown cover  Anyway the long and short of it is that they gave me a quote £50 cheaper than Adrian Flux :D

Did you let us know? As your are on your Renewal we could look at talking to the Insurers on your behalf?

Dan.

I did, and you could have beaten my quote by £59. But you wanted £400 excess instead of £100. I just couldn't justify that much excess for third party fire and theft.

Morning

If you would like to discuss this further, just let me know and i will arrange for a call back for you.

Cheers
Dan

How come you have such low insurance?

The cheapest i could find on my mams insurance was £1091. This year ive been quoted £991.

Im 19. Drive a W reg Punto, however i have 3 points?

I was paying £1400 last year with me as the main driver. The 1 years no claims and me turning 19 meant that my renewal was a lot less. Also i've finished college since and i'm a supervisor in work (although thats in a pub, so questionable whether it lowers my premium or not). My car is only a 1.2 so is at the lower end of the insurance scale. Also I've done pass plus, saying that Chris Knott said that this wouldn't affect my price due to me now having a years no claims. Its definitely worth having the insurance in your name if it's your car. You earn no claims and ensure that you won't get caught fronting, which would void your policy.

P.S. phone around, you'll find many companies will try and beat the lowest quote you've got. And only use the comparison website for a rough idea, my lowest quote on them was £400 more than my renewal price

Im down as a named driver on a 1.2, As my parents tend to use it roughly the same amount as me.

Im with quinn direct payin around £1000 - Im 19 and a student.
