right so i have a cinq 1.1 sporting, i have just change the head gasket and put the timing belt back on with all the marking lined up i have tuned the engin by hand and they still line up but when i turn the engine over with the key the car just seems to turn over and then stop and then start turning over again like it is jumping also fuel comes out of the air intake when i do this could anyone help me???? does not show any signs of starting.

Pull the alternator belt pulley off. It was 3 holes where the bolts go through, but also a much smaller hole which must engage with a little pip on the cam pulley -- if not, regardless of the cam timing, the ignition timing will be miles out.

Its either that or you've got the cam 180 degrees out.

Good stuff. It's the most common reason after replacing the belt.
