smart fortwo

Great cars, the ex had a couple, great fun for nipping into gaps in traffic being so short,as roomy as a normal car,i'm 6'1" and had more than enough room in it,never had a problem with mots, just went to a local place.

I think it's purely an urban myth,i never had any comments from my garage, and he's not slow to moan !,also if it wasn't possible to use rollers they'd have to use the decelerometer they use for 4x4s

cheers guys, still unsure really about the smart, the fact that if I want a two seater it seams wrong not to have a sports car!

YES - good thinking,
I seem to recall the running gear/mechanics is "mitsubishi COLT" , or V.similar,

never had any dealings with one but can imagine parts could be a bit tricky / pricey,

I bought an MCC Smart passion, its a ForTwo. I LOVE it! if I could change anything I would opt for the convertible option as I have always wanted a convertible, but I wanted to add my son to the insurance and having a soft top would have made it very expensive so I have a glass roof instead.

It hasnt caused me any issues at all so far, it had 40K on it when I bought it FSH and one previous lady owner.

I can get a big grocery shop in it. The only thing I cant do is move furniture and take stuff to the dump but we have the Stilo for that:)

It has cut my car running costs right down, especially petrol. It has a Tiptronic gearbox and I just use it in the automatic mode all the time. Its awesome for weaving through traffic and parking in tight spaces.

Mine is old, its a LHD import 2001. But it was well cared for and spotless inside and out.

Get a Brabus (sp?)

BBS just bear in mind not all can with fully auto mode, only certain spec's as standard, although it was an option on all iirc.

You are thinking of the smart forfour which was a platform share with the colt, believe pretty much everything in a fortwo is bespoke.

we are still looking at smart cars, the do seem a great option as a second car, all her work stuff would fit in it but I was thinking along the lines of a panda or 5dr swift as I was looking to keep it until the death (10 or so years, our 306 is 12) and in this time things, like kids, might appear in our lives and that's where the smart falls down in our plans, which as a reason sounds daft as kids are the last thing we are planning. I would still have the bravo for a few more years and tend to have bigger cars anyway for myself. just really stuck. I think I was hoping someone would say the smart was cack, a pain in the bum and not a good option!!!
anyhow, she's fallen in love with them although she hasn't driven it yet and has never driven auto, and not driven a smart (she forgot her driving licence so dealer wouldn't let her drive)

Carver One?
