hi there wonder if anyone can help, having a bit of boost trouble.
wen i put my foot down the boost seems slow to build up, the turbo sprawls up but the boost doesn't seem to be there. for example it doesn't wheel spin in 1st or 2nd and from owning gt's in the past i know their very wheel spin happy off the mark. lol.

It sounds to me like you either have a boost leak (porous intercooler, loose fitting pipe etc) or a knackered cold side of the turbo. If you've been using a chav filter chances are debris has got in and damaged the fins.

Thanks. Will have to check all boost pipes out, if I take the air filter and pipe going down to turbo off, could I check the turbo blades that way? Cheers again for help.

you can make a visual inspection of it and feel the shaft for play etc...

Assuming your turbo isn't smoking and/or making any strange noises I would look for leaks first.

if thats ok check the vac lines too and in particular the ones from the turbo to the pierberg valve and back again, assuming its still using that to control boost - alot have a dawes valves fitted instead which could have failed also (try the peirberg, it should still be there if its not used as the ecu throws a wobbly if its removed completely)

After you happy all that is ok then look at the turbo.

Cheers, will do that. Thx again for advice much appreciated

Maybe I should of said that it holds boost once over 4300 ish. My bad.lol

Managed to sort it out now it was the actuator.it was seized solid. But now I have a new problem 'lol' I have a incar bleed valve under the bonnet with quite short vacuum pipes going to turbo and actuator but wen I adjust it it doesn't seem to make much difference? Is it because it it a incar bleed valve and it designed different to an under bonnet bleed valve? Thx got help.
