I have a late P reg Punto 1.6ELX that has served us well over the years, the worst problem was when water leaked on the ECU and you can guess the rest.
One thousand pounds later, the new ECU works OK, but the handle on the black key has broken off and we have been using the master key(brown) for some time to drive the car. The key light has been on for some time, but as it didn't seem to affect anything so we ignored it. The car was serviced recently and the Fiat guy said that after 1000 ignitions using the brown key the ECU will need to be replaced, does any one know if that is correct?
The broken key still works without the handle, do you think we need a programmed key?
I just phoned Timpsons and they said they can do me a new ket for 29.99.
Cheers.
