Hi,

I seem to be experiencing a slight hesitation when I 'blip' the accelerator at tick over - its almost like I've caught the engine by surprise??

Ive just replaced the air filter, new EON 2 plugs, Magnacor leads, oil & filter change. Recently had new H/G and radiator as well.

It seems to happen when the engine is both hot and cold.

Checked the hoses, they 'appear' to be OK.

While running its as sweet as a nut - its just this slight tick over hesitation thing thats bugging me, as if something isn't quite right?

Its a '96 Sporting, 49k miles and unmodified.

Any thoughts?

see if your accelerator cable is not loose adjust with the clip and try carb cleaner have it on 2000 rpm and spray strait in to carb if car hesitation stop sprayng the carb it will come back to the 2000rpm give a few shots see how you go

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm not so confident about the carb cleaner thing to be honest - reckon I'll blow it up...

Are MAP sensors for 1.1's the same as 0.9's - there was one at the scrappers today (where I got a replacement central locking motor jobby) - wonder if its worth giving this a try for the sake of a couple of quid?

Right guys.....

Ive replaced the MAP sensor and both coil packs, along with new EON 2 plugs and Magnacor leads.

Very recent Oil and Filter change (100 miles) and brand new air filter.

Still getting this slight hesitation when I blip the throttle from rest??

Could it be the Lambda??? The H/G failed was recently replaced, so I imagine that at some point during its failure there would have been an 'amount' of coolant being pushed through the exhaust and presumably over he Lambda - so could this have damaged it in some way??

As far as I know, the lambda was replaced a couple of years ago, but I suspect it may be a 3rd party type and not an OEM?

(96 Sporting - 49k mles)

Thanks in advance (y)
