simple msn question

I have a person on my normal contact list and we both wish to know when we are online so we can do instant messenger......am running windows live, but dont know how to send one of those insant message things so that we can set it up

Any help anyone?

You both need to install and set up Windows Live Messenger. Then you both need to "Add Contacts" and key in each others email addresses (i.e. the ones you used to set up Live Messenger). You will then both receive notifications that you have added each other.

You will then appear on each others contact lists and you will know when the other is online.
