Hi, I need to replace the silentblocks of the suspension arms on my Ducato 2.8 jtd year 2003.
Has anybody done this job?
Is it as easy at it looks , removing the two bolts that hold the part and the center one wich attaches it to the arm ??
Any tip for doing that???
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

More information please.

What more you need?
Front, back, inner wishbone bushes etc.
Bushes can be pressed out and new ones fitted, though easiest with hydraulic press.
However often the cost of new wishbone bushes and hassle fitting makes it better value to fit new arms that come with the suspension ball joints.
I have done many over the years both ways, but I also have an hydraulic press so much easier.;)

So like the silent block bushes on this complete arm for £50 on eBay?
It looks like if body is jacked up so suspension unloaded/hanging down you may be able to simply unbolt old unit prise off and refit new, although make sure vehicle is in normal position on road if possible before final tightening of the centre bolt so that there is no preload on bush to cause it early failure.
You may find old bush seized to shaft of wishbone.
If that is similar to yours then apart from the new arm and both inner bushes you don't get the ball joint. This one listed is a RH one for 02-06, possibly old stock at that price. Does it look the same as yours if right hand? eBay item number:384341760742. Sorry just seen UK £14 postage.:(

Ok, thanks but I bought these because thats what the vehicle inspection here told to replace.

You mean it'll be difficult to do and I have to replace the total arm??

If you have decent tools and jack and axle stands, it is fairly straight forward.
Easy for me to say I have been doing them since 1969.;)

Well , finally I found the complete suspension arms so I "ll made what you told me.
Only a doubt...
What you mean with center bolt?
The one wich attaches the arm with the ball joint of the wheel?

Not a problem if you are fitting an arm, but if just the front bush, then if you expand that photo above it is in the middle of the shiny mounting bush at bottom of photo.
If you are fitting the arm re the pinch bolt on the ball joint near the wheel, I suggest you oil it first so it slides out easily, also you may need to release an anti roll bar link if it sits in a hole in the lower wishbone.
Oil the nut on bottom antiroll bar link it makes life easier if seized.

Ok. Thanks a lot

I have been thinking about this job just yesterday (and for a year since the MOT guy said the nearside one had slight play, but not even enough for an advisory). It didn't get mentioned this year! In regard of doing the trailing bush without full strip of the lower assemblies. I thought take the weight off, the two bolts in the bush bracket, and if all is well, it would slide off, replacement being the reverse, so fairly easy. Does this sound right?
I even re-installed eLearn yesterday, just to have a look for it. However, the full detail is missing!

In theory, it should be easier than changing the full wishbone, if there is no corrosion to deal with. I suspect if that happens, the main issue might be the steel inner of the bush being rusted on to the pin on the wishbone. Maybe a week of soaking with a penetrant will help before starting.

The only problem doing the job in situ means it is not easy to support it whilst trying to knock out the old bushes and get the new ones in.
To a certain extent I would sooner do it with the wishbone out, on a bench or vice.

True. However, there is only the one, rear bush that might (still might at this stage) need looking at. It is not going to need knocking out, as it hopefully will slide off the pin on the wishbone if it is not rusted on via the metal inner sleeve, once the 2 bolts are out.
Supporting the vehicle is going to need thought, as it's over 4t and 28', but I've done it before. Still, as it's nowhere near a critical need, I may just leave it alone, as I now have nowhere to work under it apart from outside in the street!
That might be a step too far. We'll see.
